Fayanga (AKA "Nonnie") played this weekend at VMI so we were super excited to go watch him play and to see him for the first time since he left for his sophomore year! Charley was even more excited that Sam finally out grew his Pennington jersey so she could wear it! (Chad Pennington was the quarterback for Marshall) All the Marshall fans got a big kick out of sissy in her jersey and skinny jeans! I figured with a name like Charley and wearing a football jersey we better do double bows!
Nonnie on the field! We are SO proud of him! Remember just last year when we moved him in!! We got to speak to his coach after the game and he told us his grades are good and that he wished he had a "team full" of Fayanga's intensity and work ethic! Chris was beaming with pride when Coach Gray told him that!!

The whole gang! Nonnie gets so embarrassed when I make him pose for pictures...especially when the whole team is watching!! He should be used to it by now! Nonnie is carrying his container of cupcakes that the whole family help to make (yes, even Charley!)! We also gave him a card with pictures of the kids, a little spending money, and words of encouragement and praise! We are SOOOO proud of him!!! We see him growing up, becoming more comfortable with the language and customs and taking on more responsibility (i.e. this year he has yet to call Chris to tell me to send a battery for his alarm clock...bless his heart!). Fayanga has had to overcome more things in his life than you can even count but he never stopped working hard and chasing his dream....and now he is attending a DIVISION ONE university!!!! He is such a great example for Sam and Charley and Chris and I are truly honored to be apart of his journey!! We love you Nonnie!!
