Birthday Party Sneak Peek...

We are doing what is probably going to be our last joint birthday party for the kids!  We are doing Dr. Seuss and I've had fun with the red and aqua color scheme!  I saw these cute ribbon topiaries on etsy and decided I could make them!  I thought they turned out super cute!

I'm trying to get as much as I can done for the party now since soccer season officially starts soon!  I'm really trying not to stress this year and to save as much money as possible.  I even decided to nix the cute invitation I had planned for an evite!  Sometimes simplicity just works for our family!

Dresser Make-Over!

While us gals were at the cheerleading competition the boys were at home working on a surprise!  They painted Charley's dresser and bookcase white!  See before pics here! The dresser was mine when I was a little girl!
They used this primer that you don't have to sand...thanks again pinterest!
Finished product!  We used leftover paint from Greg and Amy Jo and they also had these drawer pulls from their old kitchen cabinets!  So the whole thing only cost us (and by us I totally mean Chris!)  8 dollars!

I love white little girls furniture!  Next up, find her a bed!  (Then Sam can finally put up his bunkbeds...we have been using the extra twin in Sissy's room!)

What a fun surprise to come home to!  Thanks boys!

So Proud of Danielle!

This past weekend we loaded up the car in our black and orange to squirt's cheerleading competition!  Mom, Amy Jo, Charley, and I made it a girl's trip (Well Parker decided to crash our party! HA!)  Charley resting on the way down to Greensboro!

 Look at that little face!
Danielle was a total rock star with her tumbling and flying!  Charley had more fun then the expression on her face shows!  She sat so still and watched all the routines!

Way to go Danielle!

"Taying in the Wind"...

 My favorite...
That's my Charley...not a care in the world...crazy hair and all!!  She loves her tutu's and she asks us to "pay music" for her dance to!  I see dance class in our future!

Sam and Charley's First Concert!

We went to support two of Chris's soccer players at high school band night and they surely did not disappoint!  It was literally the cutest thing ever!  Their band, Starfish Prime, plays anything from rock covers to their own material.  I kept using phrases like, "this is the cutest thing in the world" and "they are absolutely adorable" until Chris reminded me that sophomores in high school do not like to be referred to as "cute" or "adorable".  Chris of course related it to soccer, "they show that same confidence and leadership on the soccer field".  We were both impressed!  Of course Sissy had to use the bathroom during the performance and I had to walk her up through the entire crowd (we were in the VERY back because those young kids...they like their music loud! HA!) around to the back of the stage!  Chris even downloaded some of the songs that they covered (I think he was just tired of me singing the wrong lyrics ...so hopefully now I can learn the right ones..."Alright, Already, we all float on...")

Kian (for those that are keeping up that is Big Sam's little brother!)  He played some killer licks on the electric guitar...is that even what you call them..."licks"!  I'm sure Chris would be terrified that I just used the word killer but my coolness overfloweth...HA!)

Sam (something about the name Sam :) ...so glad that all these "Sam's" are such good role models for our Sam!  He is the lead singer and plays the guitar and that Sam is just precious I tell you!
I mean seriously people...does it get any cuter than this?

They also raised money for Stop Hunger Now...I know...impressive right!  We had a great time and we were so proud of these multi-faceted young men!  They remind me of my very own Renaissance man...have I ever told you about the time Chris tried out for a praise band in college???....All I'm saying is that there might have been some Nirvana involved...now that story takes me instantly to my happy place!  I'm off to go play some Itunes and pretend to be cool and hip and young again (you better bet your bottom dollar I wore my cute and hip TOMS to the concert...I had instant "street cred")

(all photos curtesy of Meredith Roller (Sam's mom)...Chris was too embarrassed to let me take pictures with or without my cute TOMS...plus I would have no idea how to take pictures given the whole light situation therefore I left it up to an actual professional...aren't they good!)

Sam's Valentines!

I made Sam's Valentine's for his class this past week!  He loved getting to write his friends' name on them and stamping the hearts!

Thank you Pinterest for the idea!

I thought they turned out pretty cute!  I had 50 free prints from Shutterfly and I used left over paper for the background so these cute Valentine's only cost me a dollar for the bag of lollipops!  Not to shabby!
Thought I would post early just in case you need a cheap and cute Valentine for your little Valentine!

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Can you believe Dylan's 12?  How in the world is my nephew 12?  Yeah I don't know either!  It seems like just yesterday I was spending the night at the truck stop ( for the full story click here).  My kids love them some Dylan!

This was in the back room of Red Lobster...yeah it may never be the same ever!

Love Sam's little head peeking through!  Family dinners make me happy!
