We went to support two of Chris's soccer players at high school band night and they surely did not disappoint! It was literally the cutest thing ever! Their band, Starfish Prime, plays anything from rock covers to their own material. I kept using phrases like, "this is the cutest thing in the world" and "they are absolutely adorable" until Chris reminded me that sophomores in high school do not like to be referred to as "cute" or "adorable". Chris of course related it to soccer, "they show that same confidence and leadership on the soccer field". We were both impressed! Of course Sissy had to use the bathroom during the performance and I had to walk her up through the entire crowd (we were in the VERY back because those young kids...they like their music loud! HA!) around to the back of the stage! Chris even downloaded some of the songs that they covered (I think he was just tired of me singing the wrong lyrics ...so hopefully now I can learn the right ones..."Alright, Already, we all float on...")
Kian (for those that are keeping up that is Big Sam's little brother!) He played some killer licks on the electric guitar...is that even what you call them..."licks"! I'm sure Chris would be terrified that I just used the word killer but my coolness overfloweth...HA!)
Sam (something about the name Sam :) ...so glad that all these "Sam's" are such good role models for our Sam! He is the lead singer and plays the guitar and that Sam is just precious I tell you!
I mean seriously people...does it get any cuter than this?
They also raised money for
Stop Hunger Now...I know...impressive right! We had a great time and we were so proud of these multi-faceted young men! They remind me of my very own Renaissance man...have I ever told you about the time Chris tried out for a praise band in college???....All I'm saying is that there might have been some Nirvana involved...now that story takes me instantly to my happy place! I'm off to go play some Itunes and pretend to be cool and hip and young again (you better bet your bottom dollar I wore my cute and hip TOMS to the concert...I had instant "street cred")
(all photos curtesy of Meredith Roller (Sam's mom)...Chris was too embarrassed to let me take pictures with or without my cute TOMS...plus I would have no idea how to take pictures given the whole light situation therefore I left it up to an actual professional...aren't they good!)
